Sweet Summer Must-Haves

Today I was pleasantly surprised to find a pair of super cute, cropped cargo pants that actually work on a petite figure. These Marisa Cargo Cropped Pants from Ann Taylor Loft do the trick, and are super flattering on short legs like mine!

I chose the Vintage Cream wash for a classic look - the adjustable drawstring ties at the bottom hem are adorable, as you can adjust them and roll up the bottoms for that slouchy, relaxed boyfriend look that looks so great with a pair of summer wedges. I can't wait to start living in these as an alternative to denim leggings and summer dresses.

Ann Taylor Loft Marisa Cargo Cropped Pants

Super cute cargo pants in a cropped silhouette with fabric-covered buttons. Front zip with button closure. Belt loops. Two patch pockets and one coin pocket. Two patch pockets with button closure at the thigh and two in back. Adjustable drawstring ties at the hem. Tonal topstitching and seaming details throughout. Sits lower on the waist. 21 1/2" inseam.

Pretty, airy tank tops work year-round and are the perfect layering pieces to anchor any outfit. Anthropologie never fails to offer the absolute loveliest, girlie styles in floaty fabrics and soft dreamy colors.

Here are two of my favorites:

Bordeaux imbues their jersey top with an inspired arrangement of pleating, puckering and stitching

Graces Tank in Lilac
Sheer panels of chiffon flow from mythically soft jersey into inspiring folds and ripples.

When the weather gets hot and humid, or I'm on a sunny tropical vacation, there are few things that make me as happy as an easy, lightweight sun dress in a pretty color or floral print. No need to match a top to your bottoms, just throw on a pair of cute sandals and you're out the door!

(*SHHH!!! My secret shopping tip for trendier pieces is the BP juniors department at Nordstrom - they had the biggest selection of summer dresses at a nice price. Of course the fit and quality can't match the more expensive brands, but I managed to find some great pieces nonetheless.)

Here's my recent finds:

Two-tiered ruffle flutters at the front of a breezy dress styled with adjustable spaghetti straps and an elasticized waist.

Wedge Sandals

The espadrille is not only high in fashion, but "up there" in height. Be flirty in the Rampage Flynn sling sandal while sporting bermuda shorts or a cute skirt.

I scored these perfect oatmeal colored wedge sandals at DSW. ($39.95)

These look very much like the Stuart Weitzman Alex shoe ($365) worn by Jennifer Aniston.

$365.00 vs. $39 - not too shabby!

The CeeBee Report: My Latest Loves

CeeBee just celebrated a big birthday, and I'm excited to buzz about it!

CeeBee received some fabulous gifts and goodies from her loved ones and wanted to share them with you! (Here's CB below enjoying a lovely birthday dinner at Vivo in Chicago at a private table located upstairs inside a converted elevator shaft - the gifts and pink tulips were all set up on the table before I got to dinner, compliments of my fabulous boyfriend.)

MICHAEL Michael Kors Gansevoort Leather Ruched Tote

The beau gifted me with this beautiful ruched leather tote by MICHAEL Michael Kors. (ok, so I picked it out, come on now). I am in love and haven't gone a day without it!

The quality of the leather (the black leather has a subtle sparkly sheen to it), hardware details (sturdy zippers, nice lining) and inner lining is amazing, and I am obsessed with the secret pockets on both the outside front AND outside back. It's just the right size to fit all the essentials and easily work into my everyday wardrobe - not too small and compact, yet not too big and bulky either. It's a keeper!

COACH Madison Wristlet

The Coach Madison Wristlet is classic and ultra-convienent for nights out when toting a clutch or small bag and you want to only bring cash and a credit card - there's nothing worse than searching around your clutch for your ID, cash or credit cards - this makes it a cinch, plus the classic leather and pop of color make it fun and practical!

Fashionably Fun Chick Lit Beach Books

I love nothing more when going on a beach vacation than to chill out at the hotel pool or beach with my stack of fashion magazines and some easy, breezy no-brainer chick-lit reads. Since I love all things LC (Lauren Conrad), the BF bought me her two tweeny-bop novels: L.A. Candy and her second one, Sweet Little Lies (Come on, they can't be that bad if they landed on the NY Times Best Seller List, right?).

When it comes to reading materials other than the latest Us Weekly or Life & Style on the coffee table, I mostly enjoy select celebrity biographies: my favorites right now are: Kathy GriffinOfficial Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin and Chelsea HandlerChelsea Chelsea Bang Bang

Girlie Glam & Fruity Fresh Fragrances: A CB Essential

My latest fragrance pick is  Chance by Chanel. The BF picked this out for me after I wouldn't stop talking about the enticing aroma while passing by in a department store. Here's a brief description of this lovely scent, as well as a little bit of history on the bottle itself!

Chance in French meand 'luck'. Chanel and Chance sound so similar as if they were created for each other. Chance is the only Chanel perfume in a round bottle as opposed to the classical Chanel No5 rectangle bottle. It is not accidental, as it is a 'wheel of fortune'. A wave of extreme freshness meets with the flowery notes and continues with sensual spicy composition.

There are pink pepper, lemon and pine apple in the top notes, while encompassing hyacinth, jasmine and iris, and the base is composed of amber, patchouli, and white musk.

Classic Carrie

My mom gave me these lovely Chanel Silver CC Logo Pearl Dangle Earrings on my birthday. Much like that little blue Tiffany's box, what girl wouldn't gasp at the sight of a black and white Chanel shopping bag, along with a small Chanel box inside wrapped in a Chanel bow?

Classic and timeless!

(These Chanel earrings are hard to track down - I couldn't even find an authentic photo online of the actual REAL earrings - beware of fakes!

What's Old is New Again
Simple, chic and timeless - a little black dress, big round shades, and oodles of pearls and diamond, as seen here on Audrey Hepburn

Inspiration by Audrey

Pick the day. Enjoy it - to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future.”

“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.”

Inspiration by Coco Chanel: Fashionable Quotes

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”

“Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

“I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.”

“Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.”

"I do not like people talking about the Chanel fashion. Chanel - above all else, is a style. Fashion, you see, goes out of fashion. Style never."
